So you've booked your KVP portrait session, now what?
First off, no worries I have thought of everything!
Within a few days of booking I will send you a link to your personal session website. This is your site throughout our time together and beyond. Your personal KVP website contains all of the information you will need in regards to our time together.
BEFORE THE CAMERA
Once you have access to your personal KVP site you will be asked to fill out the online questionnaire. This allows me to get to know you, your family and what your expectations are for our time together. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask me any questions regarding your session.
LOCATION
I work exclusively on location. This means that during your pre-session interview I will work with you to find the best location for you and your family. This may be your home, a favorite park, or any number of gorgeous spots around the Denver Metro area.
PICTURE DAY
Being prepared is the key! I make sure to take a lot of time at my shoots, so plan on 1-2 hours per session; newborns 2- 3 hours. Please make sure you plan your outfits in advance.
I know since the beginning of time we all thought the key to getting a great shot was to make everyone say "cheese"- this is not my style. Yes, I think having a few classic portraits is a must, however I also want to capture "real" moments. There is nothing more beautiful than capturing your kids being kids so please try not to worry if your children aren't behaving perfectly. As a mother of two I am aware of how kids act in new situations and I know my flexibility is key to making them comfortable. If they have fun, we have fun, which equals beautiful and genuine images which will last a lifetime.
Newborns
If you are pregnant and want pictures of your beautiful newborn please contact me BEFORE you deliver, I will do my best to fit you into my schedule by knowing a tentative delivery date. It's ideal to shoot newborns within 2-10 days of birth. The younger the better is preferred because we want to capture their newness before it quickly fades away. Also, within the first days of life babies are much easier to position without disturbing their slumber and those pesky baby skin irritations don't usually occur until after the baby is 10 days old.
Time slips away once you go home with your new addition so planning is crucial. My shoots are all about the little one. This means if your child needs to nurse or to be rocked I am more than happy to oblige. This is why I schedule more time for their shoot; 2-3 hours is usually a good guideline. When photographing newborns I believe simplicity is best, nothing is more beautiful than photographing a newborn baby as is.
PROOFS
Proofs will be presented approximately 2 weeks after your session in an on-line private gallery. I will notify you when your gallery is ready so that we can schedule a time for viewing. Feel free to share this gallery with your friends and family. All print orders can be placed within your personal gallery.
